Barnsley College showcases student talent at Together at the Town Hall
Barnsley College played an active role in this year’s Together at the Town Hall, contributing live performances and student artwork as part of a week-long programme celebrating community, wellbeing and opportunity across the borough.
Held at Barnsley Town Hall, the event brought together local organisations, residents and partners for themed days featuring workshops, performances, careers activity and support services designed to help people connect and learn.
On the event’s ‘Live Well’ day, Barnsley College students delivered live musical performances in the Chamber, giving visitors the chance to experience the talent developing locally. Alongside this, the College presented a display of student artwork, highlighting creative and vocational projects and offering insight into the skills being developed by students.
Claire Hill, Barnsley College’s Student Experience and Wellbeing Team Leader, said: “A key part of our role in Student Services is helping students feel confident, supported and ready to take the next step. Being involved in Together at the Town Hall gave us a great opportunity to speak with local people, share the support available at the College, and encourage future learners to explore their options. It was also fantastic to see our students performing and showcasing their work to the community.”
Eduard Cristea, a Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services student, added: “The event at Barnsley Town Hall today was an amazing experience to learn more about various organisations in Barnsley and a chance to show off our Student Union work to the public of Barnsley.”
Barnsley College’s involvement reflects its ongoing commitment to working with local partners and contributing to initiatives that strengthen communities and widen opportunities for residents.
