Develop the knowledge and skills needed to adopt AI confidently and responsibly in your organisation with our AI Adoption, Procurement and Governance Apprenticeship Unit.

Designed for current and aspiring managers, team leaders and decision-makers, this unit provides a practical understanding of how to assess AI technologies, select the right solutions and implement them effectively. You will explore the key principles of AI governance, including compliance, risk management and ethical use, helping organisations maximise the benefits of AI while maintaining accountability and trust.

You will study:

  • Understanding technical vs non-technical requirements

Unit 3: AI Procurement Processes

  • Procurement strategies and best practice

  • Working with vendors and suppliers

  • Writing specifications and evaluating proposals

Unit 4: Governance and Compliance

  • Establishing AI governance frameworks

  • Legal and regulatory considerations (e.g. GDPR)

  • Data protection, accountability, and auditing processes

Unit 5: Ethical and Responsible AI

  • Bias, fairness, and transparency

  • Ethical decision-making in AI adoption

  • Building trust with stakeholders and customers

Unit 6: Risk Management and Security

  • Identifying and mitigating risks in AI systems

How much does the course cost?

There is no cost to being an apprentice. All costs associated with your apprenticeship, including the cost of training and your salary, will be paid by your employer.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.

If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
