This course provides a hands-on introduction to computer hardware, networking principles, and IT infrastructure, helping you understand how devices, networks, and systems work together to keep organisations running smoothly.

Ideal for those starting out in IT or looking to build a strong technical foundation, it’s perfect for aspiring IT technicians, network support staff, or infrastructure roles.

Delivered in a supportive learning environment, you’ll have access to modern IT labs, up-to-date hardware and networking equipment, and interactive digital learning platforms, all supported by expert tutors with industry experience. Through practical activities and real-world scenarios, you’ll gain the confidence to troubleshoot, maintain, and support essential systems in the workplace.   • Hardware and Devices – understanding computer components, installation, and maintenance

  • Networking Fundamentals – how devices connect and communicate across networks

  • IT Infrastructure and Support – maintaining systems, users, and organisational technology

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.

If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.

If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
