T Level students share brand ideas with Evri leaders
Barnsley College T Level students put their research, analysis and presentation skills into practice during a live employer project with Evri.
The project challenged students to explore how Evri could strengthen its position in the employment market and attract high-quality talent, particularly among younger and more diverse job-seeking audiences.
Paula Gardiner, Organisation Development Director, and Louise Raphael, Head of Corporate Talent Acquisition and Employer Brand, visited the College to hear students present their ideas for a project titled: Developing an EVP Strategy to position Evri as an ‘Employer of Choice’.
The T Level Legal Services, Accounting, and Management and Administration students were asked to assess how Evri currently compares with its competitors and propose practical solutions to improve its attractiveness as an employer. Their work, which contributed to them achieving 100 work placement hours, focused on identifying opportunities to enhance Evri’s talent appeal, including employer branding, social media, workplace culture and communication with future applicants.
Frazier O’Neil-Griffith said: “It was difficult to present at first, but once I started to get my ideas across and I could tell they were taking an interest, I enjoyed it.
“I looked at their social media and how they present themselves as an employer, including how they could post more about job openings. One of my ideas was making sure their work culture is shown on social media, because that’s what people are looking at.
“It’s important for younger people to speak to people who are in higher positions so they can get that perspective.”
Fellow student Daisy Collet added: “The experience itself was really good – it has given me a lot more confidence for the next time I share my work with other people. It’s always good to meet people from companies like Evri – everyone benefits from these kinds of opportunities.
“I prefer presenting to doing research in some ways, as I like the freedom you have.”
Paula Gardiner, Organisation Development Director, said: “We’re trying to get insights from a younger demographic on their thoughts and perceptions of Evri as an employer and how we make ourselves more appealing as an employer.
“It’s definitely given us ideas for where to focus. We’re always looking at ways to interact more with young people in education, and engage the future workforce.”
