Paris trip gives students a memorable cultural experience
Thirty-eight students from Childcare, Health and Social Care, and Applied Science recently took part in an exciting trip to Paris, giving them the chance to experience one of Europe’s most iconic cities while building confidence, friendships and cultural awareness.
Designed to offer much more than a traditional classroom experience, the trip brought together students from a range of vocational courses for an unforgettable visit packed with exploration, discovery and shared experiences. From taking in world-famous landmarks to enjoying authentic French cuisine, the trip gave students the opportunity to grow personally and socially while creating lasting memories.
During their time in Paris, students visited internationally renowned attractions including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum. They also experienced the magic of Disneyland Paris, enjoyed exploring the city’s streets and landmarks, and immersed themselves in the culture, history and atmosphere of the French capital.
The impact of the trip was significant for everyone involved. As well as enjoying new experiences, students developed greater confidence and independence by navigating a new city, strengthened their communication and teamwork skills. The visit also helped broaden their cultural understanding and gave many a renewed sense of motivation and enthusiasm for their studies.
Sydni Fallis, Tutorial Team Leader at the College said: “This trip was an incredible experience for our students and one they will never forget. It gave them the chance to grow in confidence, form lasting friendships, and experience something completely new. Seeing them embrace every opportunity and return with such positivity and enthusiasm was truly inspiring.”
Students also reflected on the positive impact the trip had on them.
Phobe Wheeler, a Level 3 Applied Science student, added: “Going to Paris I knew nobody but now that I’ve been I have friends that I feel like I’ve known my whole life and, being my first school or college trip, the staff who came made it a wonderful experience.”
Keevy Kelly, a Level 2 Health and Social Care, said: “Disney made me feel like I was in a different dimension and when the parade started it was magical. It honestly made me forget about everything. I am planning on going back because College made it a better experience, just getting to meet new people and spending time with them.”
Brooke Holgate, also a Level 2 Health and Social Care, added: “The trip was very well thought out. Everyone on the trip was super kind. It was a great opportunity to experience a different country and, by extension, culture, and I’m very thankful to have had the chance to go.”
The Paris trip was a truly memorable experience for all involved, giving students the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, embrace new experiences and return with confidence, positivity and memories that will stay with them for years to come.
